Workshop: The Online Professional: Gender and Digital Culture

Friday 8 November 2013, 2.00PM to 5.00pm

At the ‘Intellectual Integrity?’ conference we hosted earlier in the year, Audra Mitchell convened a panel on the role of the female public intellectual. The panel explored some of the difficulties inherent in retaining one’s integrity as a woman and as an intellectual in the public eye. Sara Perry, who is involved in the Gender and Digital Culture project at York, was a member of the panel and asked us to share news of a workshop she’s involved in.

The event next Friday is being hosted by, and linked simultaneously between, the University of York & the University of Southampton. Though not an Integrity Project event, the themes are pertinent and are part of an ongoing discussion about the nature and possibilities for intellectual integrity in contemporary academic life.

The event will will simultaneously be live-streamed on
